Focus Group
In this focus group we looked at the designes for our CD covers.
The critisms in which i was told where that it may blend in too much with other artists albums in the same genre. therefore needs to stand out more.
The positives are that i am going in a different direction with the artist.
i will take these points on board by having something different on the cover that is not the artist as this will make the cover stand out from the rest of the genre but will not change the fact that i want to take a different direction.

Music Video Analysis
The music video in which i have decided to analyse is Promise this by Cheryl Cole the genre of the music video is pop/classical feel. This music video was directed by Sophie Muller and produced by Wayne Wilkins.
Within this music video the lyrics are amplified by the actions in which Cheryl Cole makes. One example of this is when she says the lyrics "be the last to kiss my lip's" when she says these lyrics she amplifies her lips with her hand. The reason for this is that this line is in the chorus so is repeated more than ones and means that then this action can be repeated as well.
In the music videos there is three locations are used these are in a dark room, an animated room and on a bridge. the move on from the first location when the beat changes this is cared on for the rest of the music video when it is cut back and forward from the forest to the bridge. There is also a change in the pace of the dancing when the music gets faster.
This music video is mostly sold by the fact that it is her usual sort of music video and is not too different. The artists image for this music video is sexy but at the same time vulnerable the reason that she is offered as vulnerably is because the song is about her personal life experiences as she is in the middle of a brake up. Previous videos relate as she is the type of artist that that sticks to the same style of music videos. No this is the same motifs as the previous music videos.
Yes you do get get the impression that the artist is on sexual display you get this impression by the wardrobe and the make-up choices you also get this impression from the dancing in which is in the video. As this is normal for this artist no one is really shocked by it as they expect it and are used to it.
The music video is related to the artists personal life experiences not any films or TV programmes. The music video also follows the artists image.
In the music video it is mostly performance based but also has a small amount of narrative to it as well.
In conclusion i think that to sum up the music video it is mostly about the lyrics that are within the song as they have a meaning behind them. The music video also has the aspect that Cheryl Cole is sticking to her usual image and is wearing the same sort of clothing that she usually does this is revealing clothing.

Research report for My Music Video
Research
The research that I did for my music video was to look at a variety of different music videos by the artist Ellie Golding these videos included guns and horses and your song, I also Read reviews on the site in which I watched them on to see what they thought as well as talking to fans to see what they expect from a music video by Ellie Golding as the fans are my target audience and have the views and ideas that I need.
Conclusions from Primary research
When I spoke to fans of Ellie Golding they all said that it was important to keep the innocence that she portrays in the videos and not to start making them over the top too keep the simple aspect to it as well. The way in which I will do this is to keep the message in which is in the song and do a music video to follow this as they said that all of her music videos have the visuals following the lyrics.
Conclusions from Secondary research
For my secondary research I looked at a variety of Ellie Golding other music videos two of these where guns and horses and your song. I looked at the different aspects within them two of the things that I looked at was the style in which the music videos was set in, within the style I looked at the locations that they were filmed in and also the costumes in which where worn within the music videos. I also looked at the way the video was edited and if there was a link with visuals and lyrics. The conclusion that I made from this is that the costumes should be simple casual clothing and the location should be the same. I also concluded that there should be a link with visuals and lyrics.
Research Conclusions
In conclusion from my research I have decided to follow all of the aspects that are key to an Ellie Golding music video as I do not want to ruin the song. But at the same time I want to make the music video memorable.

Treatment for my music video
Treatment for Ellie Golding the Writer
I am going to keep to Ellie Golding’s usual style of music I will do this as I think that she is the type of artist that if you go to wild with one of her songs then it will not sell as everyone as used to her style of music videos. I think that if you put Ellie Golding in seductive clothing then it would be like putting lag gaga in jeans and a hoodie and making a music video like that it just wouldn’t sell.
I will start my music video with Ellie Golding laid on a bed and then she will turn over to a photo of her Boyfriend/ex and the bed will have an indent where he should be laid this will be during the first verse only. The shot in this scene will probably be either a long shot or a describing shot so that you can see the indent in the bed properly.
During the second verse it will go to a deserted field in which both Ellie Golding and the boyfriend/ex will both be there. Then when she says the line “you’re wearing thin” then he will fade away slowly.
Then during the chorus in which are two verses long. It will again be set in a field and will have Elle Golding walking around the field singing to herself. This will then be repeated the next time the chorus is sang.
The next verse I will link the visuals to the lyrics by having Ellie Golding sat on a sofa just singing the verse to herself. This will be a very simple scene in which will have a variety of different shots from close ups to long shots.
The next 2 verses in which is “you wait, I wait, casting shadows, int5erupted, you wait, I wait, casting shadows, interrupted, you wait, I wit, casting shadows.” Ellie Golding will be laid in the field. Then when I move onto the first of the two last choruses she will sit up and then when it gets to the last verses in which are the chorus she will stand up and again wonder around the field.
I think that clothing for Ellie Golding in this music video will be just casual and relaxed as I think that this will add to the way in which I want the music video to come across.
The field that it will be set in is a large green field that will have grass that is becoming over grown. The day in which it will be set on will be a clear sunny day. This field will also have no one else in it apart from Ellie Golding and will not have any house around it.
